Much More Open!

Much More Open!

The end of the first week feels great! The kitchen is much more open with the walls gone/lowered, and the drop ceiling removed. Now we can see the new design start coming together as outlets and switches are moved, new lights installed, and drywall is added. Not much else to say at this point, as we are heading into Christmas this weekend. I’ll post again next week when things start hopping.

Proceeding Apace

Still a lot going on, but the strokes don’t seem so broad. The drop ceiling is gone, and it’s clear how much bigger the space is going to feel. The framing for the removed wall areas is also coming out. It was a great feeling this morning to walk into the living room and see the light coming in from the kitchen window. A lot of new building materials showed up this morning, so it looks like we will see new things going in soon!

That’s a nice touch, since we have three cats that will be poking their noses into everything different when we let them out each night.

Demo has Started on our Kitchen Remodel!

Many of you have asked to be kept up to date on the kitchen remodel project, and this blog will be the best way for us to do that, so I hope you enjoy! Things are officially underway now, as demolition started this morning.  We now have a lot of plastic and floor...
Joby iPad Stand

Joby iPad Stand

I have a little Joby Gorillapod, which is a really cool and lightweight way to have a tripod with me. The other day I was pondering where to get a solid, cheap stand for my iPad, rather than paying the ridiculously high prices for “official” iPad stands I’ve seen, when it occurred to me to use the Joby! I bent the front two legs upwards to catch the iPad base, and bent the back leg mostly flat for stability.
